Re: My First Post! - Post here to become Fully Registered

Hi Staffan, glad you found the site. At 15 brews you're probably getting it down pretty good, but there's always a lot to learn!

Re: 2nd Round of IBU Testing Results (6 Beers...)

Well that's an interesting bit of information. Your adjustment spreadsheet seems soundly based, but after testing your results didn't match your expectations - such is the experimental process. Thank you for running this experiment and posting your results! It seems there are a lot of variables - pe...

Welcome to the forum Luisito. There are quite a few small batch brewers here - do a search for Mini BIAB to start. Be sure to read Clear Brewing Terminology and then start diving in (http://biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2685). This site is a deep well of knowledge on brewing.

BMWfan and therevbowring, welcome to the forum. As you put together your systems and start to brew with BIAB, you'll hopefully have questions, and this is the place to get them answered. Make sure that you have read and follow the Clear Brewing Terminology page - using the correct terms in you quest...

Re: Writing guides

This thread exemplifies why I love this site; an intelligent discussion of brewing facts vs brewing myths. Putting together a guide like this would be so helpful to many new and intermediate brewers. It also sounds like a hell of a lot of work! I don’t have the brewing experience/knowledge to contri...

Re: My First Post! - Post here to become Fully Registered

Hi Hugo, welcome to the forum! Lots of people here brew small BIAB batches with great success. Once you get to know how to use the Biabacus, there's no reason you can't scale down to a size that fits your equipment. Ask lots of questions, you'll get very informed and helpful answers. Be sure to read...

Welcome Dr_Hops! There's a whole lot of information on this site. Ask quetions and you'll always get some good responses back. There seem to be quite a few small batch brewers, which makes sense as BIAB is well suited for experimentation.

Re: Be careful what you wish for

Thanks for the reply SP. Regarding the boiloff, the BIABacus missed by a bit but that was probably due to a very vigorous boil. Of course there's always user error. The weather was in the mid 70s so that wasn't really a factor. I'm really not sure whether to rack to a secondary (and if so when?) or ...

Be careful what you wish for

I've been swallowed up in a project for the past few months and finally finished a few days ago. My neighbor is moving and gave me a conical fermenter, a SS 60L brew pot with outlet valve and a thermometer, and a 14" propane burner, along with some other stuff. I was itching to make a run at brewing...

Value!

It's been a while since I had time to think about my next batch, but things are settling down and I'm tweaking my current recipe. In reviewing the attached recipe I see that in section A and B under SRM the sum comes up with a "Value!" notice. Typically on Excel spreadsheets I see this when I've mes...

Conical Fermenter

I just purchased this conical fermenter from a neighbor who is moving out of state. I've been thinking about getting a conical set up for a while so this seemed like a good deal. It's been around the horn a few times, but still looks good. I doubt if there's much to go wrong with it. It came with a ...

Wow. Nice work Scott. Do you detect a pattern in the numbers?

Hello Jamie and BufferNuggets! It appears you're both going to be doing small batches, as a lot of folks are doing with BIAB. Download the Biabacus and mess around with the numbers, and study up on the "Clear Terminology" section. Then ask a lot of questions. There are a bunch of very experienced br...
